Administrative Procedures Act / Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz
The Administrative Procedures act determines the general principles of administrative procedures on the federal level in Germany. It forms one of the basis on which an applicant can apply for access to file in an administrative procedure.
The visa handbook is an instruction set published by the German Foreign Affairs Office, the head institution governing all German embassies. This document contains orders for visa officers that specify how the German embassy staff around the world have to interpret and implement visa laws. Much of the information presented on this web page is derived from or verified against the information provided in the visa handbook. Unfortunately this resource is only available in German, which is also one of the reasons why Open Schengen Project came into existence.
